Interior Plantation Shutters
3 Different Styles
Interior plantation shutters come in a number of varying styles. The style you choose will very much be dictated
by the location you are having them fitted in and the privacy and light needs you have in the room.
Full height interior plantation shutters
The most common is called full height shutters. These cover the whole window with a frame and the shutter
panels. The panels move on hinges to their full height - hence the name. With full height shutters you have the
option to have solid panels either on the bottom section or on the whole shutter. The blackout from this option is
very good but of course you do not have the option of tilting the shutter slats.
Tier on tier interior plantation shutters
The second option is called tier on tier shutters. This agian covers the whole window with a frame and shutter
panels. The difference is that the top and the bottom sections are on seperate sets of hinges. This allows you to
have the top section open and the lower shutters closed. Tier on tier shutters are not suitable for very wide
windows as the weight of the panels is too much. They will not line up accurately.
Cafe style interior plantation shutters
The third type of shutter is called Cafe Shutters. These only cover the lower half of the window. They open and
tilt in the same way as other wooden shutters. Most people keep them closed and just tilt the slats. You can see
the interior plantation shutters can be a very versatile window dressing. their is a style for all types of room
and specification. More information >>> Interior Plantation Shutters
