Plantation Shutters

These shutters were fitted to a house in Ascot, Berkshire. This external view gives you a good idea
of how you can control privacy with this type of shutter, Internal view below.

From the internal view you can see how the mid rail of these white shutters line up with the mid
rail of the window. In this photo one of the panels has been closed to show how tight they close.

These shaped shutters are fitted directly onto the doors in this arched window. All of the four
panels tilt and open on hinges. When the french doors are opend the shutters move with them.

This set of shutters show how modern they can look. The slat size is 89mm which allows more light
to come onto the room. This is a tier on toer installation which means the top and lower section open
independantly.
Shutters In A Doorway

The wooden shutters in this home in Binfield were used as a room divider between the
conservatory and the main house. The 2 side shutters were fitted seperately. The door shutters fold right back to
allow easy access in and out. The colour is Silk White and the shutter slat size is 64mm.

Shaped Plantation Shutters
If you have difficult shaped windows then shutters can be a great looking way to cover them. As you
see from the photos below there are many weird and wonderful styles for shaped shutters.
These photos were taken on the SCraft display stand at the 2010 BBSA Blinds show. All Wood Shutters
are measured and fitted. We do not supply DIY shutters.
The following shaped plantation shutters were installed in 2 windows of an apartment in Goring.
They were designed so that the shutters both open on hinges and tilt within each panel. The triangular shutter also
swings back almost completely to leave the window clear. See shutter pictures below.

I hardly know how to describe this window shape. All of the 6 lower shutter panels open on side
hinges. The top triangles tilt only.

Each of these three panels tilt. All three draw to the right on hinges.

Detail showing hoew the shaped shutter panels can draw back on hinges.

Arched Wooden Shutters
This arched wooden shutter is fitted on the edge of the reveal. This allows the shutter panel to
open fully as shown in the second picture. The wooden slats also tilt so that you can have light in the room
without losing your privacy.
